If not, then you are about to be educated on which models received the honor and what qualifications they met to do so! Join our staff here at Auffenberg Kia today as we explore the qualifications that allow Kia models to be named IIHS Top Safety Picks!
Qualification Process for IIHS Top Safety Picks
Kia models need to meet a few set qualifications in order to be named IIHS Top Safety Picks. Specifically, vehicles need to receive “Good” ratings in driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, roof strength, side, and head restraint tests. “Acceptable” or “Good” headlights are also required as well. The final qualification that vehicles must meet is “Advanced” or “Superior” ratings for available front crash prevention evaluations. These evaluations include both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations.
